POSTAL
For over 20 years, WIC has been a gold standard supplier to the US Postal Service providing sortation, automation, and modernization systems at over 300 Postal facilities.
TURNKEY SORTATION SOLUTIONS
WIC provides sortation solutions for a wide range of throughputs, product types and product sizes. Our capability includes optimizing the induction, singulation, DWS, and sortation subsystems to meet the Postal Services budget and applications needs.
SORTER MODERNIZATION AND UPGRADES
Our Sorter Modernization and Upgrade Projects for the USPS have successfully extended the life, improved the performance, and added functionality to tilt-tray, cross-belt, pusher, paddle-divert and shoe sorters. These upgrades include composite chain and track upgrades, software and IO upgrades, modification and reconfiguration, and the addition of automated singulation and induction system.
BULK HANDLING SYSTEMS
Western has engineered, fabricated and integrated numerous bulk mail systems utilizing equipment outlined in the USPS specifications.
SMALL PARCEL SYSTEMS
Our Small Parcel Conveyor for the USPS is a key part of transporting parcels from facility entry to processing points. WIC has designed and implemented conveyor that is capable of transporting over 10,000 packages per hour.
TRAY MAIL SYSTEMS
Our 24 VDC motorized roller conveyor systems are an integral part of the Postal network. WIC's technology transports, sorts, tracks, and routes mail trays and flats nationwide, in distribution centers from Maine to Alaska.
PALLET HANDLING SYSTEMS
In addition to handling loose product, Western offers powered and gravity solutions for pallet handling applications. These include lift tables, gravity roller conveyor, chain driven zero-pressure accumulation conveyor and drag chain conveyor.
PLANT RELOCATION/CONSOLIDATION
Whether it’s a single piece of machinery or an entire plant, WIC has the experience to document, disassemble, package, and reinstall equipment safely and efficiently. We also provide engineering and design support for new facility layouts and have the expertise to design and install support infrastructure such as structural support assemblies, electrical systems, and control system equipment.
NATIONAL, NETWORK-WIDE DEPLOYMENTS
We have the ability to support the deployment of new equipment on a national level. For example, after the Anthrax scare in 2001, WIC installed hazardous material detection systems (the Ventilation Filtration System) at 284 USPS sites across the United States. (Sites complete shown on map)
